DESCRIPTION:
This technology project can be used as a culminating activity integrated into core content subject areas, an enrichment activity or a cooperative group project. It can also be used by technology teachers as a standalone project.

1. Learn what Found Poetry is and how to construct it
2. Practice rhythm and meter
3. Share their work using technology.

2. Poetry books and anthologies.

PROCEDURES:
1. Ask students who has heard of “Found Poetry”.
2. Tell students that Found Poetry depends on the culture represented in the words and language around us. Now, in the internet age, we can create new poems from multiple cultures.
3. Give students time to look through the books, newspapers, magazines. When they see words, phrases, or sentences that they like, have them record those in their notebook.
4. Next, tell students to use the words, phrases, and sentences that they recorded to create an original poem. They can move words around, change the order of sentences, etc. Encourage students to try to create a new meaning with their found poem.
ACTIVITIES:
1. Students will create an original Voki character that represents their Found Poet personality.
2. Students use text-to-speech or voice recording to have their Voki read their Found Poem aloud.
3. Students will present their Voki presentations in small groups, or to the entire class.
