DESCRIPTION:
This technology project can be used as a culminating activity integrated into core content subject areas, an enrichment activity or a cooperative group project. It can also be used by technology teachers as a standalone project.

PROCEDURES:
1. Share the parts of a friendly letter with the class.
Give examples for each section.
a. What is today’s date?
b. What is your address?
c. Who is a friend you would write a letter to?
d. What would you tell them?
e. What are the ways you can sign a letter? Love, From, Sincerely, etc.
f. Don’t forget to sign your letter! This is a good time to practice your
cursive.

2. On their own, each student will write a friendly letter using paper and pencils, or individual computers.
3. Have students pair up to check for grammar and spelling.
ACTIVITIES:
1. Have students create a Voki character that represents themselves.
2. Have students have the Voki read their letter, using Text-to-Voice or by recording their own voices.
3. Have students share their Vokis in pairs or small groups.
